A body has been found in Portland Basin near Ashton town centre...just months after a man was found dead in the same stretch of water.
A man’s body was discovered in the canal behind the Portland Basin Museum on Portland Place on Monday lunchtime.
Police and ambulance crews have already pulled the body from the water.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said they were called to reports of a deceased male in the water at 12.18pm. Emergency services are still at the scene.
It is the second time a body has been found in the same area of the canal this year.
